Windows 10 can be very slowing in starting up your CD/DVD when first inserted. Sometimes the Autoplay will just not work.
(These instructions are also applicable to Multi Card Readers.)
When you first insert a CD/DVD look for this message (above picture) in the bottom right hand of your screen and then click on it.
Then this Dialog Box (above picture) should appear on the top right of your screen.
Click on Run AutoRun.exe
If the above does not happen or you missed it, there is another way.....
Click on the START Button and then click on THIS PC. The above Dialog Box should open.
This should show you all the drives you have attached to the system.
RIGHT CLICK on the DVD RW and select OPEN AUTOPLAY or Install or Run from your Media.
You could also just select OPEN and look for the AUTORUN or INSTALL application manually and then double click on it. (above picture)
If the DVD drive does not want to run, reboot your computer and then try an ORIGINAL CD/DVD rather than one that was burnt to check that the DVD is working OK. It is extremely rare to find a faulty DVD drive. We haven't come across one in a few years!
